I thouught there were 7 films in the series, the last one being in Moscow.
I like Tackleberry on the firing range where is everyone has a small six-shooter he has a hand cannon destroying the firing range target in one shot. Harris say "Where did you get that?" & Tackleberry replies "Ah, my mum gave me that".
Jones was best character, in the first part of the first movie sitting next to Mahoney in the police station & Mahoney asked "What your in for?" & Jones pulls a small mike out, says "This" & makes machine sounds, everybody was running about & diving behind chairs & so on.

I found a Wilkipedia about this.

I think it was Police Academy 4 where Zed and his girlfriend sort of get together and the Blow Monkey's song 'It Doesn't Have to Be This Way' is playing. I always liked that scene (probably because i like Zed and the song).

Ah yes - number 1 in the series was the best, nmber 2 was OK - they fell off rapidly after Guttenberg left the series (Citizens on Patrol was the last one with any wit).

But yes - that scene as the camera tracks across the targets "<crack>... <crack>... <BOOM>" as Tackleberry's round blows the target in half...

Although NONE of the films were as bad as the spinoff cartoon series (which I only caught about 3 minutes of - thankfully)

My favourite ones were 1 and 3. They still crack me up, especially the Blue Oyster Bar!

The characters I loved best were Jones, Hightower and Zed.

Fave character....oh gods.....all of them. It was the mix of outrageous stereotypes that worked so well.

Best film is easily the first one.
