NPR podcast about a BBS "ghost town"

Post by Kirkman14 » Fri Nov 08, 2013 8:43 pm

NPR's "On The Media" program has a weekly podcast called TLDR." In a segment they published yesterday, one of the program's producers revisits a BBS he used to call in the 1990s: M-net. It's still online.

Cool segment. I'm always delighted to see anything BBS-related in the media.

Used BBS's in the early 90's. Actually downloaded full discs of games, it took ages and must've cost a fortune.
Hard to believe now that the person at the other end had to keep the machine on - no mirrors, etc.
