If you could revive one tv show/cartoon from your childhood

Post by samhain81 » Mon Jul 01, 2013 2:51 pm

What would they be? Feel free to say why

For me, they would be

TV Show - Are you afraid of the Dark? - Watched this show religiously after school days , and re runs on weekends.

Cartoon - Galaxy High, Visionaries - Two of the best cartoons growing up for me, especially Visionaries which was so ahead of its time. Kicked Transformers and Thundercats asses if you ask me

I'd somehow forgotten all about visionaries... Its funny how it all suddenly floods back tho'...
so many cartoons not enough braincells i guess...
I remember the figures, with real holograms on their sheilds!

I didn't watch much live action stuff, being hooked on mainly video nasties from an early
age... something a bit twisted like rentaghost would be interesting though... failing
that eerie indiana...

Either Battle of the Planets or Ulysses for a cartoon... or Jason and the Wheeled warriors, thats the one!

The trouble with bring-backs and revivals is that if said show isn't at least good or better than it was the first time round then it's bound to be a let down.

Dallas have done it very well, Steptoe & Son is another good example.

I would love for Knightmare to come back, but would it top the original?

Most likely not, so it's best just watch the repeats and/or DVDs! :)

"The Tommorow People" could be cool if enough money was spent on a big film production.
"Touche Turtle" on second thoughts leave this masterpiece alone!

Robotech. Do I need to explain why? It has robots...that turn into F-16s and they fight giant green aliens. Plus Lisa Hayes. Mmmm, Lisa Hayes. I'm not sure how they could bring it back though. It would have to be a reboot.

If not Robotech then Galaxy Rangers. Just for the theme tune.

Dungeons and dragons so I can see those pesky kids get home. Watched an episode at work from my box set on our big projector. Forgot how brutal eighties cartoons could be. It was the episode where they entered a tower to retrieve an item but the tower would use they're fears against them. Anyway one of them had their face melt
Another shout for the crystal maze. Top entertainment.

Would love to see a modern version of Ulysses 31.

Also a new series of Knightmare, but a more adult version for the people who remember it growing up.

Yes, Yes and YES!

Got it on box set and regularly watch it, where else can you get a decent sci-fi show with great Greek Myths thrown into the mix. And lets face it, Ulysses was pretty bad ass, you messed with his family, you receive the working end of his pistol/light sword...

Also bring back Centurions and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors (just for the kicking 80's theme song, have it on mp3 and it's always a nice surprise when it kicks in at the gym on random )...
