I thought I was the only person who remember Bazooka Joe, just found one of those comic strips that came free with them.. Bazooka Joe I take is the kid in the cap and the Pirate Eye patch

I remember Bazooka Joe, we used to buy them but I can't remember the contents. There was a square of gum, the comic, and 'something else' but I can't put my finger on what that was.

I don't remember there ever being a "something else", just the gum and the comic.

It's been referenced on the Simpsons at least once: Mr. Burns and Homer are stuck in a cabin under some snow, and they find an old ration box. Mr. Burns picks up a Bazooka Joe, reads it and throws it away, saying something like "I read that one in 1945".

Sometimes you could save the tokens and get a free buzzing ring or summat like that,

I bought far too many Sugar Puffs in the mid 90s trying to get a Spider-Man figurine - I only ever managed to get Rhino, Chameleon or Hobgoblin though.

Does anyone remember the Sonic yo-yos in Frosties? You had to collect tokens but you could choose from a Sonic one, Tails or Robotnik.

Bought a packet of Coco Pops Coco Rocks this morning, and it includes a plastic crocodile to keep your cereal bag sealed. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but it's nice to see that freebies still exist in SOME form.

weetabix cards were the ones i used to get as a kid in the late 70s/early 80s. I remember i loved the DC comics ones, i remember superman, joker, batman, braniac, supergirl.. dont remember the rest.

Also they did cards of the weetabix gang - Brian, Dunk, Brains, Crunch and Bixie as i recall.

Before we'd even had a bowl of cereal me and my brother would be digging into the box to retrieve the free gift. Used to love them.
