European dubbed 70s TV kids show/film...

Post by mlucifersam » Sun Oct 16, 2011 4:38 pm

Right, I've been searching for this on and off for YEARS and it's one of the only TV shows that I remember from my childhood that I haven't been able to track down yet, probably cos the title has alluded me.

So I thought I'd try here.

It was on UK TV between 1976 and 1979.
I thin it must have been a series as I remember the theme tune so it most probably would have been. I wouldn't have learned the tune if I'd only heard it once or twice.

It was one of those badly dubbed jobbies (ala 'Heidi' & 'Silas').

It was about a boy who, I think, lived in a forest (in my head there's lots of trees!) and he could understand animals. He was aged bout 11 to 14ish. I remember a bit where there was this obvious model bird and it had come up right close to him and he was stroking it and they were having a conversation. He wore like a Robin Hood type hat, it was brown anyway.

The theme tune, which I still remember, had someone whistling the lead part.

That's ALL I remember. I've searched everywhere and can't find out what it is.

Ring any ding dongs??

bit early for me, but doesn't ring any bells. Certainly remember Heidi etc

I supposed it's obvious, but have you tried TV cream's website?

I had the same thing with a cartoon about a space bird that was called something crazy like 'fantastic super lunar watoo watoo' - anyone remember that? It may have been from French Canada.

Cheers for the help but it's none of these. I tried TV Cream ages ago and pop on every now and again but nothing. And it's not that Golden Hair thingy. The hero there is a grown man, this one featured a young boy. There was no Princesses as I recall and he was speaking to birds. Hey ho!
