Actually, I'm GLAD they didn't make more, like Fawlty Towers it's better that there are only a few gems rather than too many humdrum, samey runs through the same old gags...

At least it meant that it ended while it hadn't run out of good ideas and was still funny, and is therefore fondly remembered (Fawlty Towers is another one).

There's far too many series that stick around long after their sell by date.

(I posted this message just as Merman beat me to it)

The Young Ones is/was awesome, watched both series again recently and they definitely haven't lost their draw.

As far as I'm concerned,Back to Reality (last ep. series 5)
would have been a fitting end to the show

Instead,it died a slow unfunny death

Only series 7 shouldn't have been made. I love 1-6 and 8.
5 is the best though.

Isn't everything Rik and Ade have done since just 'The Young Ones mark 2' ? (or more precisely - isn't everything from the start 'The Dangerous Brothers mark 2?).

Individually they've done different things, but by and large their duo work has been in much the same vein. Not that I'm complaining.

I'd love to see Rik as a patient at Holby City with Ade saving his life

BBC are you listening?!
