Re: Retro TV that nobody seems to remember...
I've just been watching Moschops as a result of this thread.
"Moschops thought and thought until he got that dizzy feeling that meant a special thought was coming".
Bernard Cribbins has such a great voice for narration.

That cartoon pictured was evil, I remember watching that and Laputa on BBC.. Those pink vine eat the thing the kid was riding and the Hunter saved him really freaked me out and I thought I had blanked that from my mind..Ralph Milne's Left Foot wrote:Now then, one I'm having trouble remembering the title of, not even the folks at the IMDB can help me on this one:
There's a galleon in space, with glass domes covering all the outside bits. When they go below decks, it's a weird garden place with big spiky plants, and that's all I remember. Oh, it's a cartoon, by the way. Same "time" (as in year) as Fantastic Max.
Fantastic Max was about 1988 ish... The same guy who did Super Ted, Mike Young
The Cartoon below was about 1987/1991 ish ( made c 1982)
It follows the adventures of Piel on Perdide The main ship has a huge big glass dome

Alfonso Bonso
Seaview
Theres more... But Iam knackered
Didn't Mighty Max have somebody called Skull Master like a Skelator rip off

If I remember he was a very early version of todays The Owljoefish wrote:Before Penny Crayon, it was Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings. And it was Goober and the Ghost Chasers, a re-hash of the very first Scooby Doo.

Who remembers Alias the Jester, a short-lived Cosgrove-Hall show which I presonally remember most for the Jester's cute little green alien dog, Boswell...

Well, not that much anyway

look at it sideways wrote:Are there any television shows in the past that you really enjoyed, but nobody apart from you seems to remember them? this is a thread to post about and discuss these shows...and hopefully find someone else who actually knows what they were! Alternatively, if there's a show you remember everything about bar the title post a description and maybe someone will know what it is.
A TV show I loved when I was younger that nobody seems to know was Fantastic Max. Here's the intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dSJ2Y4iVus
I was probably a similar age to Max at the time so I guess the idea of a baby jetting off into space and having adventures was really appealing to me, I could relate! Also, anyone remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB3K7eFFXHE ?
Not only do I remember "Fantastic Max" which was ok, but I also remember seeing a similar cartoon called "Space Baby" & wondering why it was only on once. I can even remember the theme tune.
Then I remember seeing Fantastic Max & thinking hey they've totally ripped off that other cartoon, it's only with all these years of hindsight that I now realise that I must have been watching the pilot episode before they changed the name or something.
PS Fantastic Max was a one year old baby, you sure you can remember back THAT far!

Yeah, I remember The Roman Holidays (It was actually made in the 1970s as a Roman version of The Flintsrones/Wait Till Your Father Gets Home) but as far as I can remember it was on during the eigties and the pink blob was Barbapappa which was French and from the 70snecronom wrote:I've seen that pink and black thing, but I can't remember anything about it.
Does anyone remember The Roman Holidays? It's an '80s cartoon:

Both of these are worth remembering just on their own anyway.

They don't put them on any more as they're not Politically Correct and have no moral story line behind them. Long gone are the days when a cartoon could be nothing more than good mindless fun and violence I'm afraid.
