Darkman

Post by JetSetWilly » Sun Jan 17, 2010 7:47 am

Just streaming this from the lappy to the 360, I forgot how good the movie is. So much so, I just bought the region 1 boxset of all three films for just over a fiver. Thing is, I don't remember the origin scene being that graphic when I taped it off BBC1 in about 1996.

Anyone else care to share?

Second one isn't that bad. Its got that bald bloke out of The Mummy in it as Darkman. Haven't seen number three yet, but as soon as the set comes through, Ill give it a whirl. First one is defintely the best though. As you said, Laim Neesons best movie.

I've not seen the follow ups, mainly because I don't think they'll live up to the original, but yeah, quality film.

Love the film, but disagree. 'Taken' is f**king awesome.

Totally forgot about Taken. Awesome film indeed. He just seems to like going for the neck. Ok, Darkman is his second best film :D

Another excellent Sam Raimi film. I remember Danny Elfman's soundtrack was pretty good too.

I didn't like the original so never bothered with the sequels.

Darkman is great. Taken is great. (But going off topic Next Of Kin is my fave Neeson film. Hey what can I say? I like those sort of films  )

Not seen any of the followups but loved the original. It didnt flop, but it didnt really set the cine on fire which is a shame really. Also, it was wierd that in Darkman they were sort of creating a comic book anti hero without him beaing an actual comic book hero. Backwards, but it worked

To be fair, Danny Elfman seems to do the music for f**kin everything, everywhere. The Darkman theme was pretty awesome tho, and actaully had the Elfman sound, which he seems to have lost since the mid 90s

I love these films, have them taped off the TV somewhere, I like the bad guy Durant in them. I remember he was pretty ruthless in the first film at the start. I kept meaning to buy the boxset at somepoint. Its one of the rare ocasions where I was not too put off by the change of main actor.

You all know nothing!!! High Spirits is Neeson's best film!!

I watched Dark Man a few weeks ago, mainly to see Bruce Campbell in action, and it was much better than I remember, it still holds up well.
