Escape to Victory
Sorry if this has been done, but I've only just had the chance to watch the movie in full. And I love it!It may seem silly, but it's got a cracking game of footy at the end, though.

Stallone in goal... EPIC FAIL
Love this movie, mainly because it features several famous Ipswich Town players including John Wark and Russell Osman. Oh, and the unlucky Kevin O' Callaghan who has his arm broken so Stallone can play!

Great film. Very cheesy but highly enjoyable. I love the theme song.
Pele and John Wark. Classic.

Re: Escape to Victory
classic film...remember O'Callaghan from his Pompey days..what I want to know is where the Ipswich keepers were when they did casting though...surely a goalkeeper would have made a more convincing goalkeeper.
Re: Escape to Victory
another fan here, bank holiday classic, especially Stallone's "goalkeeping"

A stuffed iguana on a ping-pong bat would have made a more convincing keeper than StalloneRapidmollusc wrote:classic film...remember O'Callaghan from his Pompey days..what I want to know is where the Ipswich keepers were when they did casting though...surely a goalkeeper would have made a more convincing goalkeeper.

Re: Escape to Victory
Fancy watching this again now. After I've watched the new Death Race, Outpost, The Punisher and Who Dares Wins.

John Wark became my nemesis in the early 80s when he turned up in every pack of Panini stickers I bought. I must have had dozens of blasted John Warks and so must everyone else because I couldn't swap him for love nor money

Re: Escape to Victory
I love the way the radio commentator has a 78 of applause cued up to play when Germany score and nobody claps.

That did make me laugh too. My mum hates Anton Diffring so when he comes on, she just shouts at the telly at himCoopdevil wrote:I love the way the radio commentator has a 78 of applause cued up to play when Germany score and nobody claps.
