from carry on abroad (otherwise pretty naff)

Evelyn Blunt: Not for me thank you.
Vic Flange: Oh. Don't drink?
Evelyn Blunt: No, I tried it once and didn't like it.
Vic Flange: Smoke?
Evelyn Blunt: I tried it once and didn't like it.
Vic Flange: Strange.
Evelyn Blunt: Not at all, my daughter is just the same.
Vic Flange: Your only child, I presume!

I have a soft spot for all the black and white ones...Cabby being my fave.

I also find some of the lesser known ones interesting (if not funny), Spying, England and Emmanuelle.

faves:

1 Carry on Henry
2 Carry on Cleo
3 Carry on Camping

I liked the historical ones the best - although I'm not sure I remember the names right:
1) Carry on Don't Lose Your Head (French Revolution)
2) Carry on Up the Khyber (The Retreat from Kabul)
3) Carry on Cleo (Kenneth Williams' Ceasar 'infamy, infamy, they've all got it in fa me'
then Follow that Camel, Carry on Henry etc. I just think that the historical settings gave the films more room for humour and wordplay, in addition to the double entendres and boobies.
Lots of others too. It's a pity I never get to see these on tv any more.

Carry on Up The Khyber, absolute classic

Love the bit near the end where the Governor's house is being destroyed and they all refuse to acknowledge what's going on

Kenneth Williams saying 'Rank Stupidity!' always makes me laugh every time as well

Just love everything about the Carry Ons , even the names of characters/locations

Like Carry on censored , where Reverend Flasher is really censored terrorising Upper Dencher , or visiting the Spanish resort of Elsbels or the lavatory factory owner WC Boggs

The Carry On films are fantastic, would love them to release the full lot of Blu Ray! Can you actually get them all on DVD?

Iirc, the whole lot are available. The early ones up to and including Carry On Screaming have been dvd'd by Optimum Releasing. The ones after that (the Rank Era) are released by Carlton Dvd. I don't know about Carry On Columbus, but you really ain't missing much as it was a big pile of naff.

they both were. Candidates for the Would you? thread?

And I though Peter Butterworth was funny as a wet fart as farmer Fiddler in Camping.

'Are you a menber?'
'....no?'
'Well, then, it's a pound'
'A pound.....right..'
'....each!'

Not my favourite, Carry On Loving, but one of the best scripted jokes in any of the films, goes something like this.

Pretty bird to Terry Scott's character "oh that damn cat has got in again, it's the neighbours"

Pretty bird puts it out of the door and shout "shue cooking fat".

Terry Scott looks at her and says "cooking fat they can't call it that"
Pretty Bird says "well that's what it sounds like"

As for the best carry on, well there are so many great ones, that's it's too difficult to say what's my favourite, but I do like Carry On Don't Lose Your Head and Carry On D.i.c.k. (which interestingly is banned in Brazil). Check it out on the IMDB.

I have some of Hancock's shows, and they are pretty awesome. They had Sid James, Kenneth Williams and Hattie Jacques as well.

I still listen to Round the Horne, with Kenneth Williams as one half of Julian and Sandy. Funny as hell. A real "bona" comedy show :)
