Classic 80's Cartoon Songs and Intros

Post by yethboth » Sat Feb 14, 2009 11:13 pm

Those were the days when people made an effort in creating decent songs and intros for cartoons. Check out this link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKmys-Tys90

As mentioned before in the Inspector Gadget thread, alot of cartoons made in the 80's in the west were either Japanese/French Co-Productions by being animated by Japanese and French animators or American created but animated by Japanese animators.

I like the MASK theme song.

Not to squit on your rainbow, but I haven't seen ANY of those before.

And - at least from the intros - they all look like god-awful clones of... each other.

(What the hell was up with that pink floozy!?)

F*cking Jem! How can that be in there instead of The Bionic Six? At least they got the number 1 one right.

Master you need to get out more, or in this case stay in more.

Bionic Six! Christ! The robo-monkey thing was one of my favourite toys as a kid!

If you thought the above link was interesting, check out this additional intro I've just discovered:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eliQEStz ... re=related

I had no idea they made an 80's cartoon series out of this! This intro though is full on american animated with no theme song sadly. :(

Defenders of the Earth is one I've always liked and the best is Pole Position, but the rest are unknown to me. Jamie and the Magic Torch should be in there.

Never heard of a Rambo cartoon.

Well if we're talking strictly animation then I would have to go for Dogtanian - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odxRNNpfpaQ

And look for real evidence of cartoon manhood in the closing credits...

Can someone put me out of my misery? (No...not like that)
Remember Get Fresh on Saturday Mornings on ITV? Gilbert the alien?

What was the name of the cartoon they would show over the course of the program? They would cut it into 3 parts. The cartoon had three men whom each had a special suit for their chosen field - Land, sea, air.

I got the box bought for me on my birthday last year, complete, post cards, info book, bloody brilliant. Forgot that end of each episode you had a mini-documentry talking about something that happened in the cartoon, like a mayan ritual or lifestyle etc etc, it was not only entertaining, the cartoon, but also educational...........obviosuly didnt have an impact on me becasue I forgot they had them on, but I dont think the BBC broom cupboard actualy showed these parts!?!? (anyone correct me!? lol)
