Retroinspection On the MASTER SYSTEM

Post by northern_gooner » Fri Jul 20, 2007 4:54 am

Hi
Just a quick email, love your mag and all that sloppy, crawly stuff....
What I would like to see or know is WHEN will you be doing a retroinspection on the great 8-bit Master system.
I have every issue 1-39 And you have done some great articles, but to over look this system is plain criminal.

I'm in agreement - the Sega Master System is probably the most overlooked 8-bit console. I was so impressed with the SMS when I got one.

well since the SMS outsold the NES in Europe i think its a crying shame that theres hardly ever any SMS content in Retrogamer (apart from the pretty good Tec Toy artical)

sort it out lads

I totally agree with Rupert.
RG should start making amends by doing a retroinspection on the Master system, sooner rather than latter!

I'll add my vote in Here...no disrespect to Nintendo who make fabbo games/consoles...but Sega always seems to be the 'bridesmaid, never the bride' when it comes to the credit and coverage they deserve. SMS was way bigger down under than the NES as well, and the old Pre SMS beast, the SG computers were big in Australasia too and would deserve some coverage.

Here's an idea that may or may not take off: Edge mags are always big on the Special Editions...how bout some Retro Game game Special editions like Sega Special, Nintendo Special, Atari...maybe a Consoles: The First Generation special featuring VCS, Intellivision, ColecoV, Vectrex, Odessey, Bally, Arcadia and so on?

With the whole RI type of feature I'd be interested to see the FM-Towns Marty retro-inspection. That'd be a good read.

Do people at the magazine read these posts? I really feel that for such a popular system they should give it some more attention, I'd much prefer this over a Dreamcast retroinspection which is being discussed with great enthusiasm in another thread.

I 2nd this. While the dreamcast is a great system, the master system in my view so overlooked by RG that you would think the Sega Vs Nintendo advertising wars have started again & RG is firmly in Nintendos corner.

Would love a big pic of the MS or Alex Kidd on the front cover of the mag.
