Good TV for PS1?

I'm new to the retro scene and after some advice. I have a PS1 ATM and I want a good setup to run it. I have a composite cable so will buy an RGB scart. I need a CRT and have been looking at Sony Trintron or Bang and Olufson, I prefer the later as it's less bulky but, which one would be better? Any other tips for a newbie?

You should have placed this in the 'it's all about the games' forum as this is a Q&A for the magazine itself :)

Anyway, I don't have any experience in the CRT TV field so sorry. :(

Either of those should be fine. Trinitrons are always highly regarded but B&F is a high end product anyway. You'd really need to get two sets together to compare, but unless you're a complete videophile you probably wouldn't notice the difference.

The only thing I'd suggest is sticking with a 4:3 ratio screen if you can instead of widescreen.

Don't know how I overlooked this, because I actually have my LCD TV set to 4:3 to play PSOne games or else they look extremely stretched and messed up. Widescreen was a horrible invention in my opinion as it makes older things look bad ;(

Widescreen is great as long as the source is too.

Not all TVs have great 4:3 options though, hence a preference to stick to a native 4:3 CRT.

Thanks for the advice! I've got a monitor at work but I don't know if it's any good for gaming. See pictures.
