Well, if we're guessing, here's my possibilities:

1: He has an adblocker/pop up blocker on his browser, so he's not had the pop up message telling him he has a message, and hasn't otherwise noticed it, since it's just a tiny number you don't notice unless you're looking for it on the forum pages.

2: He has so many messages, they're just getting in the way of work, so hasn't got round to a reply yet.

3: He's sick of frivolous whiny messages from people moaning about childish stuff on the forum (not suggesting yours is whiny), devaluing the significance of the PM system for genuinely useful/interesting comments, so hasn't bothered looking at his messages for a while.

Personally, the first option has caught me out a few times, leaving messages unread for days/weeks.

This is why I added the RG forum to my Adblock whitelist.

Hmm...I always know I've got a PM because I get a box informing me that a pop-up has been blocked on the page.

Using Firefox with Adblock. Dunno what it's like on other browsers.
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.
