Avatars

The avatar upload feature doesn't seem to be working. I've tried jpegs, tiffs and pngs with no luck.

What's the matter?

Yeah, I'm not too sure what's up to be honest. I've looked in the relevant place and everything seems to be in order... Very confusing...

Not wanting to sound condescending, but the chmod permissions on your avatar folder are set correctly? They should ahve been set automatically on install, but funny things can happen!

Uploading avatars is currenlty being looked into, but for the time being you can still host from a website.

Depends how much server space they've got for the forum.

Would probably be better to host pictures/avatars off-site, and then offer a selection of generic avatars for people to choose from.

Like what?

Speaking of avatars btw:
how is it possible that people like for example Hungry Horace (no offence to the guy himself though) are able to use avatars bigger than the prescripted 80x80 pixels?
His avatar is very irritating, distracting from the actual content, and wa-hay too big (237 x 156). How can this happen, I hope these kind of avatars are being tackled soon(ish)?

The avatar in question:

I *love* the Goonies though! 8)

I could have sworn the link to external URL didn't work either earlier... ah well seems to be good for now.

Hi folks,

The avatar upload is fixed now.

That's because it's an external link - so not checked by the forum. If we disable external avatars again then this won't be possible anymore.

As Daz and Merman have their 'ZZAP! stylee' avatars, I thought it only right to join in...

I've often wished I had "ZZAPatar" because they're kinda cool, but I'm fond of my little frog, Fletch... 8)
