Old shops article...

Post by NickLoTurco10 » Fri Sep 03, 2010 6:14 am

Hi guys, I was wondering whether there would be any interest in an article on the demise of toy/model shops? Bit geeky I know but I used to love going into Beatties when I was a kid! Also, I think the retro Gamer title means ANY games can be included. Maybe a feature on board games, or things like Crossfire? Any toys/games should be fair game!

I share the warm memories, but don't think this is right for or would appear in RG.

Old video games shops, maybe...but hard to come up with a compelling angle.

There are one or two shops associated with particular games companies or programmers, but don't know if there is enough to sustain an article

i wouldn't have thought there was enough meat there for an article either, no.

The idea of writing about specific shops wouldn't work either, i could do a piece on the place where i worked but, unless it had a certain nostalgic value for readers, it's not going to hold the interest as such.
