Wouldn't mind a big Barbarian poster on my wall. Game Over...not so sure; don't think that would go down too well

Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

I also like the free posters you used to get to pull out of the centre pages of magazines like Personal Computer Games etc. I had a rather cool ancipital one on my wall for years, until my first girlfriend asked me to take it down...

And stating the obvious i'm sure but for those not in the know then the axe-wielding blonde bombshell is none other than Wolf - aka Gladiators fame.

Even after all these years, the Barbarian poster gives me 'special' feelings. (Game was pretty good too as I remember)

Is there a decent dedicated archive for these things like TAFA?.

Seems a shame if there's not a repository dedicated to preserving all this old Game Artwork as in many cases its just as Iconic and important as the games themselves.

Those adverts are better than the gumpf we get now. I think its mainly because they're all hand drawn and have a special something about them, instead of computer generated adverts.
The Renegade, OutRun and Game Over ones are the best ones. ALso, loved the OCEAN ones as well. Might look for them and have them as a desktop picture for the lappy.....

Edit: Just done a desktop picture with Renegade, Double Dragon and Shadow Warriors. It does lose some off the Renegade and Shadow Warriors ads, but it look quite smart.

Print retro game adverts for games featured elsewhere - maybe 2 or 3 - throughout the mag eg. Dizzy, Spy Hunter, Altered Beast so on - especially the ones that state "Best Graphics ever seen..." etc and those that give the games price (2.99 Spectrum/CPC) :)

Todays flashy next-gen ads don`t seem to have the humour or artwork level.
I'm so down with that :D How about the original 'Contra' advert, with that tanned purmed dolly bird all kitted up in hot pants and camo gear standing next to the arcade version of the game  .........anyone else remember that? it was all over alot of Marvel comics back in the day.....I had it up on my wall
