Just to see what I waqs missing out on, I took the liberty of Continuing my game last night all the way to the end. I doubt I will ever manage Level 4 (that is, if I can find a way passed L3 boss!), but... the m a m e original game did not loop; instead it gave a Conratulatory message before ending with the High Score table. If the saturn version therefore does loop (as assumed by Kollision's post), how do we stand for accurate scoring? Granted, this situation will only apply to the few, but still....

ooops!

In order to loop the game you need to fulfill certain requirements.
As taken from http://shmups.com/beepreying/old/strate ... s/etc.html:

When you clear the first loop of the game in one credit, satisfying one of these conditions will allow you to continue the game starting from the first stage, but in a harder difficulty:

- Lose up to two fighters.
- Depending on the fighter used, have a maximum hit count of at least the following:
Type A: 270 hits
Type B: 300 hits
Type C: 330 hits
- Score at least 50 million points.
- Collect all thirteen bees in four of the six areas.

This score was done on the PS1 port of DoDonPachi, which has some major issues with the chaining. This puts me at a disadvantage but I thought I'd throw up a score anyway.

I think the chain meter drops at 60 fps while the game isn't always running at that?

I've 1-ALLed it a couple more times, but no increase in score.. to get all bees on 4 stages, you have to do that without losing a life in the middle of bees chained, as I've found out :P
