Bomb Jack Highscore Spectrum 48k

Post by NickLoTurco10 » Sat Apr 02, 2011 12:02 pm

Hi guys, I've been playing this in work recently (not much work coming in!) and I think I've gotten pretty good at it. My highscore is 746,790. Is this any good? If I could have gotten past the hard screen I reckon I could have smashed the million barrier. I've been searching on google but can't find any highscores. It's such an addictive game.

Just realised I put this in the wrong section, can a mod move it to the highscore section please? - Your wish is my command - FT

That's a respectable score if this is anything to go by:

Thanks mate, looks like the highest that Java game will let you go is to 999950 and then it must crash or something? I finally broke through the million barrier on my speccy emulator on my PSP today (in work again!). It just goes back to zero on the game screen but the highscore comes up after, I saved the highscore screenshot of course! I'd love to find out what the highest score is but it's such an old game, maybe nobody cares about it that much or prefer to play the arcade version.

My personal best is just over 1.7 million; obtained many years ago on a Speccy emulator on my Amiga 1200. My best in recent years is about 1.4 million. It's still one of my favourite games on any system.

Hi my friends and I went through a Bombjack craze in the 90's, we used to compete pretty often for highest score. Took us all a long time to crack the million, but a few of us got there.... then we went on to some pretty crazy scores. This took a few years of daily hammering it, but my all-time PB was 5 million. That took around 3-4 hours. My best mate and I used to go head to head. Hurts me to say but his highest was around 7 million.

Keen to get back on the horse... whats the best machine I can get and where from? Is it possible to get Bombjack on PS3 or other systems?

7 million is very impressive, that's what you call being 'in the zone'!
