What originals games were better than their sequals?

A couple of other games I remember that had pretty bad/terrible sequels I've just remembered are Sparkster (the sequel to the awesome Rocket Knight Adventures) and Final Fight 2&3 on the SNES (which were laughably bad but pricey on ebay 'cos of their OMG teh R@REness)

It's a silly question because, especially on a retro game board, the answer can only ever be "About 99% of them"

Speedball is better than Speedball 2.

I thought I was the only person who thought that.

I was really annoyed when I got a nice new TV and the status bar at the bottom (the score and time remaining etc.) was off the bottom of the screen. They used a bit too much of the overscan

I suspect Speedball 2 is better, but I'm more fond of Speedball 1 as well.

I have to say I preferred Speedball 2 but they were both fantastic.

Personally, I thought Speedball 2 was much more polished and played better than SB1.
