Tatsunoko Vs Capcom

There's a new Capcom 2D fighter on the way, well kind of it's in 2.5D - the characters are 3D and the backgrounds are 2D apparently. Not sure we'll see it in the west due to the quite specialist subject matter but here are a few shots

I heard about this a few days ago, prob on digitiszer/game central on digital teletext......first time seen any screens and what can you say but beautiful! Seems Capcom know where their true roots lay with this game and Im thankful for it. Love 2D beat em ups so much.

It does look great and has the potential to be a very interesting game. Hopefully we'll see some old Capcom characters getting a dusting off and a chance to ruck. Arthur night - Ghouls and Ghosts, Demitri - Darkstalkers, and anyone from Final Fight would be brilliant please!!!

It does look awesome. Would much prefer that to SFHD.

Anyway before one of the mods locks the thread

Has huge potential.went looking on youtube and found the PS1 game of gatchaman, nothing too special but worth a go

You gotta love the music

Just read the wiki entry for the production company, some good quality anime in there, speed racer and macross. Im a little too young (was released in 1972) to have seen gatchaman (battle of the planets) first time round but I know of it. And it brought a smile to my face to know they produced samurai pizza cats (I would have been 10 in 1990) so a cameo from the 3 cats would be great, as a special attack of course!

Well add that to the fact that I jump on any Vs game from the offset makes me want it all the more! Hoping for a wide variety of Capcom characters rather than just SF2 again!

Being a fan of just about anything Capcom, it's no surprise that I'm really looking forward to this!

It looks great.

Twice as obsessed!!! ;) It does have potential though, it's getting a full arcade release from Capcom too so if it gets a home port I'm sure extra characters will be included.

I hope we do see some home releases of this. It's about time we saw another decent Vs game.

Yep I'd love to see a proper retail version of the game on the 360 with some amazing HD visuals and some nice Capcom boxart

Great news if its true. I've been playing the Japanese version since December and it is fantastic, in my opinion its easily the best beat em up on the Wii.

Hopefully that mention of 'Capcom USA' means that they're trying to secure a release for territories outside of Japan, i.e. Europe too, not just the US. I'd love to have this game on my Wii, even if I only recognise one of the Tatsunoko characters. Some regret that they never put the Samurai Pizza Cats in there, but apparently even Tatsunoko don't have the full rights over them.
