Overheat's Top 10 eBay Auctions - Week 001 (15.05.08)

Post by Overheat » Thu May 15, 2008 6:07 am

Okay, so following on from my monthly Top 10 Most Expensive list - this is a weekly list I'm going to start compiling on Thursdays (because my manager isn't in on a Thursday :P) of LIVE auctions of the week. Again, it will be based on the more luxurious eBay items, but this time I'm going to include all items, not just mint/new condition ones. The only catch is that it has to be retro.

If this sounds too dull, then I'll just stop - but if it creates at least a little bit of attention, then I'll carry on with it :)

Let's give this a try then, my auctions of the week this week are:

Number 10: Net Yaroze Console - link

Number 9: Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake - link

Number 8: Datel Duplikator - link

Number 7: Empire - link

Number 6: Metal Slug 4 - link

Number 5: Legend of Dragoon - link

Number 4: Sega Mark III Console - link

Number 3: Atari 2800 Console - link
Image

Number 2: Dreamcast CX-1 Console - link
Image

Number 1: Neo Geo Gold with 43 games - link

I've tried to keep it fairly varied, and I've included things that are probably far too expensive already. I've also tried to use auctions with at least a few days left on them, unless I found them really interesting. So, anyway, this is my Top 10 for this week - let me know what you think :)

Was just going to ask why you were selling all this stuff and where on earth you sourced it all - hehe.

yeah - I'm definitely "just browsing" too - as there's no way I could justify the outlay - lol. That Neo Geo system sooooo tempting tho :P

And at #10 something I was thinking of bidding on, and at #3 something I was thinking of bidding on! I also recently had the C64 version of #7 in my hands (borrowed), I can probably say that's as rare as the Tandy version in the auction...

That Empire auction seems to be a classic 2 person bidding battle - stemming from a $9.99 start price...

It says working FDD, but isn't the FM Towns Marty a CD based system?

Floppy discs are used for saves, CDs for games. The majority of Marty versions have one floppy disc drive, a CD drive, and an IC card slot.

Man, whoever the highest bidder for that item is must want that game so bad he's willing to pay any price to get it! (and thats not me bidding on it!)

I thought of you when I saw it.

I take it you already have a copy? And if so, what was the damage (financially)??
