I know its the same game, but I'd rather play the original version.
I don't like the look of the robots either..

I don't reckon there's enough difference to bother doing that, however the true original version is the Japanese game which featured a proper introduction and extra background animations that were taken out (errr.... why??) from the Western releases, now that one would be worth tracking down.JackPainter wrote:Is it worth me throwing out some extra cash to buy Contra from the states, instead of buying Probotector over here?

Yes and no - some old carts will give you problems but you can clean the contacts with some isopropyl (readily available from Maplin) and that will usually help. The main problem is that the cartridg connectors get loose in the system itself, but it is very easy to open them up and sort them out...sscott wrote:he put me off saying that you constantly have to faff on with the connectors on the carts - is this true?
The bloody shame indeed!sscott wrote:Still don't own a NES, was in a shop about to buy one when the store owner said "the trick to the NES is to blow" ???, he put me off saying that you constantly have to faff on with the connectors on the carts - is this true?
Bought the 32X instead! The shame of it!
