I *have* to disagree here, I think completely the opposite! For me, Creatures 2 took all of the very best bits - ie. the Torture Screens - from Creatures, and expanded them into an amazing, varied and always entertaining game.

I first discovered Creatures through a torture screen demo that had been included with a ZZapp! 64 covertape. I was gobsmacked, and to be honest, I'm still wildly impressed that Apex managed to cram so much quality gaming onto one humble cassette. 8-bit legends.. :)

One of my favourite games is The Detective Game, it's a very very tricky "Whodunnit" murder mystery game that will probably make you tear your hair out with frustration, but if you actually manage to complete it, it is an engrossing game with a fantastic story to it.

Not perfect, but well worth playing. Play it for a week, then download a spoiler-free walkthrough and complete it :)

As a new member, I'd imagine he used the 'search engine' to see if anyone had already started a thread. No doubt had another thread been started, someone would have come along and said 'there is already a thread for that'!!

So, ashmck73 - a great list of games there and welcome to the forum :D

Because we must celebrate the old breadbin. :D :D You can never have enough C64 love. Now : LOAD"*",8,1  :D

You've got to add some more :-

Pitstop 2(the best racing game on the C64 - no arguments please)
Ranarama(with the frog and has a similar game mechanic to Paradroid - what with taking over the Warlocks)
Twin Kingdom Valley(text adventure, with holdalls, lamps, flint, dragons, trolls, etc.)
Gunship(the best flight simulator on the C64)
First Samurai(pushes the C64 to the max - and a great platformer cum fighting game - similar to Myth)
Druid 2(sort of a Gauntlet clone)

"Do not bump threads older than two days" rule does not apply on this board and rightly so... :P

There's a pretty good homebrew version of Pinball Dreams for the C64.

Well I owned a Commodore 128 so will have to go with the games which were compatible and fortunately most of them were:

Best game was Pirates. Super fun and addictive.

Special mentions go to: Monty on the Run, T.M.N.T, Solomans Key, Rampage, Bazooka Bill and Football Manager 2

Totally agree on Pirates. It's one of those awesome games that keeps coming out on new platforms to this day; a few of the sub-games might have come and gone over the years - and for that reason it's still worth going back to the original from time to time - but it's definitely stood the test of time.
