Who is your favourite videogame company?

Just thought I'd ask the question to see who you think consistently makes the best and most top quality games.

For me it has to be Sega, just too many great games to list here, needless to say my all time top 10 is riddled with Sega games. They may have fallen off a little bit in recent years but I think they are slowly getting back to making great software again (fingers crossed lol). Nintendo and Capcom deserve special mention too as I have throughly enjoyed their games.

Who likes who and what and why. :)

For home machines
Without doubt Lucasarts/Lucasfilm
A large number of highly polished games

Activision are a VERY close 2nd , particularly for their 2600 games

In the arcade , the accolade MUST surely go to Atari

Missile Command , Star Wars , Centipede , Crystal Castles , Paperboy , Battlezone , Gauntlet , too many to mention , all class games

Sega for me as their music CDs are excellent.

And their arcade games aren't bad either. ;)

Nintendo would be up there, thanks to the likes of Mario and Zelda. Sega too. But I grew up with an Amiga, so the companies I remember fondly were Psygnosis, Lucasfilm/Lucasarts, Renegade, Team 17 and Delphine.

Nintendo are unrivalled in my heart. Mario, Zelda, Kirby, SNES, Wii... they seem to ooze quality all the time.

It was a tough race between Sega and Nintendo, but I would have to say Nintendo since Sega hasn't released anything lately that I have played. I can't help liking Nintendo. Anytime they release a new game with their famous plumber brothers it puts a smile on my face. I adored the Yoshi Island games, all the Mario Bros., and more recently Smash Bros. Brawl has been keeping me amused. :D

Ocean, because they are from Manchester (originally) and I had a tour round their offices in the mid 80's.

It WAS Capcom back in the 90s, but lately the only decent things they've been doing are compilations... actually they're not that decent...

Nintendo have been consistently brilliant with the Zelda & Mario series, & kudos to Capcom again for Zelda Seasons/Ages.

Blizzard did some brilliant things in the mid to late 90s, but World of Warcraft doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

Right now it would have to be Nintendo. They've maanged to use the extra features of the Wii & DS really well & not make them look like tacked on extras, unlike some games companies out there...

In the 80s-mid 90s it was Lucasfilm without a doubt, purely for those adventures and it seemed like a wonderful place to work from the features I read. Origin comes close.

These days... probably Blizzard or Bioware. Both companies that have a genuine passion for what they're doing, strong connection with the fanbase and in Blizzard's case a really thorough quality control. I admire any developer with the 'It's ready when it's ready' approach.

For me it has to be Capcom. First and formost they created Mega Man, my favorite series ever but they also made Street Fighter, Ghosts n Goblins, Dead Rising, Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil and to many other games that I've loved to name. Here's hoping they continue to keep making fantastic games.
