Best 2-player arcade ever?

Post by Igorthegreen » Sun Mar 23, 2008 8:55 am

Hi

I was wondering what you guys think is the best 2-player arcade-game ever? Me and my cousin love playing games as Knights of the round (Capcom coll. 2), Captain America (Sega Mega Drive), Duke Nukem (PS1), Gauntlet (C64), Street Fighter, Double Dragon, etc...

What game made you have the most & unforgettable fun with 2 persons?

Zombies! Awesome game two player :)

In the same vein, The Chaos Engine on Amiga was great too...

As for pure arcade coin-ops; Simpsons arcade game i loved, Bubble Bobble, and any of the racing games where you can go head to head are always fun for a few laughs!

Wow, that's a tough question.

I was tempted to put down a one on one fighter, like Killer Instinct or Mortal Kombat 2, which - if with friends can be great fun.

However, I think 2 Player games are most fun in co-op mode.

I'd probably rank Time Crisis 2 as one of my fave co-op games.

Double Dragon is also great, if just for the twist at the end. You work together all the way through in an "us Vs them" scenario, and then all of a sudden you have to go at it with each other.

Genius. And also the reason I didn't put down any similar style game, such as Streets of Rage!

What's the difference between the endless versions of Street Fighter II anyway?
