eBay auction - This should make you laugh!

Post by EvilArmourKing » Sun Dec 09, 2007 12:45 pm

For those of you that know your PlayStation games, you would know that Rainbow Islands featuring Bubble Bobble is worth upto £15.

Which made the following auction make me laugh :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0174670905

And £3 for postage!!! WTF!

I put in 2 best offers, for £1.20 and £2 respectively, yet it immediately came back with an "Offer Declined" notice.

I wasn't aware you could set an amount in the Best Offer you would be prepared to accept.

He's got quite a lot of rare stuff, in fact he's got 2 or 3 copies of most of them, which I guess is why they are so rare.

Items with a best offer remove the last 4 characters of a username, to prevent other users with a similar or same item from contacting them.

It's also a security reason.

My username does not contain **** at the end of it!

If I wanted to spend my money on that game then I could get two for that price at my local Gamestation (£24.99 there). I'm sure that I could get it cheaper than that, though.

But it does say "This game has now become ULTRA RARE and is currently out of stock at its manufacturers and all retail outlets."
Because manufacturers and retail outlets really do keep huge stocks of PSone games don't they?

I predict about 20 minutes before someone writes a script to submit from £0.01 up till it gets an accept.

Aaaaaaaaah but don't you all realise adding ultra rare to the title of an item automatically triples the price of an item :D

This really amuses me what an overblown price. It's a great little collection don't get me wrong but I've got a copy and it's a distinctly no frills purchase and the only reason it commands higher prices is because of the limited print run. To be honest you can get the Saturn version a hell of a lot cheaper.

Someone paid £20 for something that's available for free.

I was getting wound up by that, as I hate seeing homebrew/copies being sold for stupid prices, but then I read the auction. He's been totally up front about saying its free, that al you're paying for is his custom artwork printouts etc.

More fool the buyer. I suppose if they have £20 to waste, fair enough.
