Re: Screenshot challenge.
It looks nice, whatever it is!
I thought it was a Speccy game to start with, then I noticed some colours the Speccy can't do.
It looks a bit Treasure Island Dizzy-ish. Is it a lightgun style shooter (except, without the lightgun, presumably)?

Its Spectrum. Red, magenta, bright and normal green, no colours there that aren't Speccy.RetroKingSimon wrote:It looks nice, whatever it is!I thought it was a Speccy game to start with, then I noticed some colours the Speccy can't do.

Re: Screenshot challenge.
Colour is okay with everything else.
We are talking about Merman's shot, right?

Re: Screenshot challenge.
Hmm, I am confused.
I have got a pic using 'printscreen' and to see if what I'm seeing is different to what you're all seeing...

Edit: the 'brown' is a lighter shade on my grabbed shot than in Merman's original, plus, the grey border I left in the pic (part of the forum screen from the 'printscreen') has turned the same lighter shade of brown. What's the hell's going on?

Re: Screenshot challenge.
All the magenta that I, and presumably everyone else can see, has turned brown in that shot
And the red has turned the same colour brown too...
I have no idea why....

That's how I see it, but red and magenta appear okay to me too (elsewhere)! What's going on?Space_turnip wrote:All the magenta that I, and presumably everyone else can see, has turned brown in that shotAnd the red has turned the same colour brown too...

Re: Screenshot challenge.
ROOKIE - It is a lightgun game with a lightgun, off the action pack, mastertronic I guess.
I own 3 ZX lightguns but never used one in anger, or any other time. After playing with an SMS one there seemed little point.
@RKS
Also the Yellow on your picture is gone brown, this phenomenon happens a lot with playdough after 3-4 yer olds have played with it.

Hard to say, but I guess you've some odd pallette selection going on.RetroKingSimon wrote:I have got a pic using 'printscreen' and to see if what I'm seeing is different to what you're all seeing...

Your PC isn't set to 256 colours is it? Depends which version of Windows you've got to check that, but its usually right click desktop then select Personalise or Properties to start the process.
If its not the PC colour depth thats wrong, what browser are you using?
As for why your screenshot varies once more, that could well be down to the image type and colour depth its saved in. Savig a 4 colour GIF is obviously going to change more colours than if its a 16 million colour JPG.
My best guess for the initial problem is the desktop colour depth though.

Re: Screenshot challenge.
I got the image from World of Spectrum and uploaded it to Photobucket, don't think it did anything to the image in the process...
