I think it's the video game version of Jewel in the Nile.

And?
I don't know what the game is. I only guessed it came from cpcpgamereviews because that's how they store the screenshots of mode 0 games -- at half normal width, rescaled via html.

I thought someone with more Amstrad experience might be able to jump in and say, 'Why yes of course, in fact it is a game by the name of ...'

It's a mystery.

Literally. It's Mystery of the Nile for the CPC. I wouldn't have got it without the emperor's pointer which is why I didn't want to steal his thunder. :)

Heh, no worries there. My thunder is easily stolen. I'm just pleased to have played 'assist.'

:)

Anyway, with Merman's permission and because you were right about the screenshot, I'll post up the next one as I'm going to be offline for a bit.

Warning: this one's a bit obscure, but only because the platform isn't one you often see screenshots for. Two screenshots for you...

Looks and sounds very 'Lords of Midnight' to me :?

I think there was a version made for the Game Boy Advance, so it may possibly be that...

Don't know the name though

Looks like Doomdarks revenge? On the CPC?

I doubt it is but there is a certain similarity there.

Looks like it could possibly be a JAVA based on line version or something.

Is it a fully commercially released game?

Commercially released in 1994 I believe. It isn't JAVA or a remake, and it is for a genuinely "retro" platform. It is very obviously "inspired" by Lords of Midnight though.

As a hint - there have been calls for the platform to be featured in RG in recent months.
