Its probably Salvo as that is used as a term for firing multiple munitions including Torpedos.

You'd think, but you'd be wrong. (Also that'd be getting TWO letters wrong.)

Okay, it's the middle letter. They got the middle letter wrong. Now it's a maximum of 25 guesses to get it right

That would make it ‘Sauro’ (1987)! 😎

OK, here's the next one... shouldn't be too difficult.

I've cropped the image for obvious reasons! :D

Name and format please.

Time for a clue?

OK, it was first released on the C64 in 1987, then ported across to the Amstrad, Spectrum, DOS, Amiga and Atari ST (1988-89).

now this one ... i thought this was pretty good actually, but had to wait for the spectrum version

now i said originally it was the commie version, as it has horrible muddy colours
but then i said amstrad ...
now i'm guessing the DOS version?

it is of course AIRBOURNE RANGER

i liked it's isometric viewpoint ...

Overrated, unlike Airborne Ranger which was incredible for its day, way ahead of its time with freeform missions where you could stealth it up or just go in guns blazing, or maybe just set a distraction with some explosives. Only played the C64 one rather than Speccy, still have it in the loft.

Well done! It was 'Airbourne Ranger'... the screenshot was the Amstrad version. Fantastic game... but it's one of those where you need to read the instructions first! And like Antiriad2097 said, it was way ahead of its time.
