Yep, it was the Amstrad CPC version. You can tell as it's not brown! :P

Ok, here is a hint: This is a short onlinegame that was quite popular about 5 years ago.

I often check in to see what the latest screenshot is, but too many posts over the last 12 months have been far too obscure for their own good.

Post an officially released 8-bit or 16-bit game and more people will start to join in again...

The Laird posted an official game months ago - nobody joined in for ages. Every image I've posted was officially released on 8bit format and responses have still been pretty slow, so your theory might not be correct. I think lack of feedback, clues and some very obscure games for the most part.

The last one by Gibberish Driftwood was, admittedly, only a Kongregate/online game, but it did have lots of coverage in its day.

Anyway, I'm going to pass; so someone else can post a screenie (all the ones I tried in the last five minutes or so can be obtained by Google's Search By Image   )

I'm in the same camp as you with this, obscure commercial games are one thing but random flash games are seemingly pushing it to be honest (I mean that in the nicest possible way but they really do hold the thread up) as well as that bloody one by Laird not too long ago

Don't give up! - I often grab a youtube vid of the game and then take a screenshot from there - that way you can have a game that isn't too obscure, but also may not come up straight away on a google image search.

That's what I did!

Google Image was able to identify every game from a still I took from the vids. It wasn't sure if it was absolutely correct, but each time Google identified the game I uploaded an image of within the first 10 answers.

Damn you Google - you ruin everybody's fun!!

Doing a reverse image search is cheating  .

I only answer if I know it, or have been able to work it out by not doing that.

Sure I've played it but can't remember the name. Palette looks Segaish and I'm less familiar with console games.
