I've just had to cheat to guess that one so I'm going to keep quiet for a day or so to give someone else a shot...

It's Zeb - one of the example games that came with "The Games Factory"

[EDIT] No cheating either - I used to code with the Games Factory, so knew the game well. :D

That's Dragon's Lair II: Escape from Singe's Castle. Probably on CPC going by the colours and resolution.

Someone else have a go if that's correct, can't post screenshots from here.
