mame help please?

I've just downloaded mame32 0.99 now how the hell do i get a game going on it? :oops:

well you need to put some zipped roms in the \\roms folder below mame. Then you need to go to file and "audit all games".
Then you'll see all the zips you have in the roms dir - select the game you want to play (making sure of coursethat you own the game first 8) )

yeah thanks for that but how do I get the screen right because the playing area is on its side now?

Options > Default Game Options - Rotation drop-down menu.

thanks found that but i still can't get it right when I select rotation none theres a bit of text appears which tells me the name of the game of the I've just loaded etc, then when the game comes on its wrong again.

Have you tried the game options and checked that the cocktail mode is switched off?

In the toolbar at the top select 'Options', 'default game options', 'display' and check that rotation is set at default and both screen flip boxes are unchecked (empty).

Next have a look in the mame32 folder and you will see a folder called ini. Open the folder and open mame32.ini and make sure all the ror and rol options are set to 0.

Your games should now display the correct way up.

If it still doesn't sort it copy and paste the mame32.ini here so we can see which option is wrongly set.
