I saw a copy of Vic Men by Bug Byte go for Â£51 on e-bay last week. Might be worth looking to see if any of you have a copy lurking somewhere!

One of the best Vic-20 games I played was Mutant Herd. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it, it actually had a sub-game as well and was very fast paced. Not sure if it was only a cartridge though, mine certainly was.

Others were of course Wacky Waiters, Arcadia and those great text adventures...

How about somebody making the Commodore cartridge that never was: Vic-1936, pre-released as ."Space Vultures" a version of Phoenix for the VIC.
I would have loved to see this at the time as GORF was my favourite arcade conversion for the VIC but Phoenix was (in my opinion) a better game in the arcade cabinet format.

I believe this wasnâ€™t done due to legal issued with Atari, although apparently work may have been started on the gameâ€¦

I've considered doing a small Vic 20 GTW site, as i'm a fan of the machine.. but so loaded up at the moment. Unless I did a quick single page site to start the ball rolling.

Well, i've done a small page on two titles... including the one from GarryG. It can be added to over time and provide a small resource until someone wishes to do a separate GTW Vic site.

Just bought a great cart off e-bay called Star Battle. Never played it before. You have to say there were some great cartridges produced by Commodore. Some weren't that far off the gameplay of the arcade machines they were copying.

Factorama time: Star Battle is not as hard to find as people think. I keep seeing the damn thing labelled as "rare" when it's more a 5/10 rarity game now.

Oh you actually want the trivia bit now do you? Fine fair enough. Star Battle was programmed by Satoru Iwata, the current president of Nintendo in Japan.

fredghostmaster: yes, Commodore did produce some quality titles for the VIC-20, including Gorf and Blitz (even though that wasn't a cartridge game).

They were a little bit of a let down when it came to the C64 though.

I came across this thread by accident, and just wanted to say that I've since found this game!
It was 'Villain' by Interceptor Software. It was on cassette and published in 1984, that sounds about right for when I played it.
It ran on an 8K expanded VIC, which is probably why I didn't get it at the time. I wouldn't have had an expansion pack at that time!!

I think it may be the only joystick-wiggler for the VIC.
So I wasn't imagining things after all

A bit late I know but my Favorite vic games are:

Rockman and R.I.P from Mastertronic.

Star Battle and Jupiter Lander carts by Commodore.

I played those four games to death.

Mickey the Brickey can't remember much of this other than I liked it
