Definately Astro Blaster. What a game that was - hard as a bag of proverbial nails but it spoke!

Astro Fighter was another that could have been the easiest of conversions but to no avail. There were a plethora of games that borrowed liberally from it but none has the urgency and effects of the original. Dinner money well spent.

WWF Superstars or Wrestlefest didn't get a look in either at the time. I think it may have had something to do with the individual licensing rights of the wrestlers who had left the company in or around that time and would have been due some sort of royalties.

Capcoms Nemo never got coverted as far as I recall.

And how about Crime City and Growl by Taito???

Crime city in particular was very similar to Segas E-Swat but was a much better game starring the 2 cops from Chase HQ.

Okay, if anyone remembers this request I put in for someone to identify a game:
I wrote:
I vaguely remember a game in the same arcade as I discovered SF2 in, but I don't remember the name. Would have been about '91, you were a soldier type boyo in a platform game, you could jump on enemies' heads, but you had a sword too, an upgrade was homing beams... Kinda cartoony. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks to everyone who tried to help, but my vague description of the game in Xbox Live tonight to DADDYCOOL brought this up: It was Legend of Hero Tonma, which, I see, got a PC Engine conversion, and now I'm able to get it!! Very happy. Here it is:

Alien Vs Predator by Capcom

I still hope this comes out on a Capcom collection it's stunning, the pinnicle of 2d beat em ups in my opinion. Wonderful huge cartoon sprites, loads of enemies, the ability to play as a Predator!, and fast franetic gameplay. I thought it would've made a brilliant Saturn or even a Dreamcast conversion, but alas it was made In the twilight of the 2D beat em up.

Golden Axe - The Revenge Of Death Adder, should have received a home conversion as this was probably the best golden axe game of them all.

The Simpsons - The Arcade game should have had a home conversion as well.

Its sort of like Robotron mixed up with Commando. Could easily have been done by PS1 onwards. Though the originals twisty censored ontop of the joystick would be replaced by two direction sticks now.

I don't think Image Fight had a conversion. Probably because it's so hard. :D

It was converted to NES. In fact, there are a few others mentioned in this thread that appeared on NES, namely: ASO, Heavy Barrel, and POW.

Growl came out on the megadrive. I'm still looking for a copy.

Image Fight also made a showing on the PC Engine and X68k.

I would love to have seen a home version of 'Aliens' based on the arcade game....

Plus home versions of 'M.A.C.H 3' and 'Firefox' would have been grand.

Seem to remember a rumor about M.A.C.H 3 coming out on the mega CD? did it? didn't it?

I don't think MACH3 ever got a home release.

I'd love to see Firefox again, but afaik its not supported by emulation yet :(

That was such an expensive game to play at the time, but I could never resist at least one credit.

Konami's X-Men (with six-player mode) didn't made it to the home console at all. That's a bit of a surprise. :o

As well as Alien Vs Predator I'd like to have seen a SNES version of Carrier Air Wing, it was quite a nice little shooter
