Top 50 'not so famous names' on MAME i would like to see ! As i said above most of us know the big name games for most systems, but we're missing out on so many other good games just because theyre not one of the big name games.
Top idea mate. Who is it that does the 'accidental gaming' website (is it Sureshot?), anyway that is in a similar veign.

I'll have to check out that website, thats what i love about retro gaming , coming across some old game you never really knew about because of the name/review/just missed out as theres so many roms/games out there to play.

Penguin Kun Wars i would never have tried before because of the kiddie sounding name and being japanese, i love that game, so addictive on MAME.

Yeah, been a bit busy lately so things have ground to a halt somewhat. I was actually half-way through creating a new website too (un-optimised preview: http://sureshot.sulphuricacid.co.uk/agr ... 070926.htm). Still some stuff to be read on the blog if you're interested.

Is there actually any chance of the list appearing in the magazine?

Definitely.
I've had my Gameboy Advance loaded with NES roms for ages, and I've only really played half of them.
Anyway, my girlfriend started playing Earthbound (Zero, the fan translation of Mother, I’ve later discovered) the other day, simply because she was amused by the music on the intro screen or something...

I didn’t really know anything about the game, or that it was even on there at all, to tell you the truth.
Now we’re both hooked on it, and just started playing the SNES sequel as well.
Absolutely brilliant games - shame they were never released officially in the UK.

I tell you what, I loved that 'Colony' game. You had a little robot and had to order seeds, fences, etc and grow seeds for a shipment off to earth. You had bugs running round eating the fences and the crops. It was the best game on my CPC. I think I bought it for 50p second hand, and played it for the most hours. It just made you forget you were playing an 8 colour, heavily pixelated game loaded off a cassette.

I remember spending hours on the Atari 8Bit version of this.

Think it's time we had another?

The top 100 worst doesnt seem to be going too well
I think people prefer champion the cause for games they like rather than dislike

I've been having trouble thinking of terrible games. Can only think of Pitfighter and Star Wars Super Bombad Racing.

I think the major issue with the 'worst 100 games' is that people are nominating a load of dodgy home conversions, rather than actual bad games themselves.
