Wow—quite a few new additions today! And we're past the 75 per cent mark, too! Thanks to everyone who's contributed so far. Next up: #23.

Heh - walk left to leave the first screen...?

(Only joking - I know what you meant.)

Good choice - TID is my favourite of the series too. Pretty darn difficult.

It was Ridge racer, you know, from the arcades, and it was running in my bedroom!

Very nice pick. It was really like playing a high tech arcade game at your home tv. And it's still really playable.

23 - Karate Champ - (Arcade Only)

Sadly a game that could never realistically be converted to a home system due to the double joysticked cabinet, although The Way Of The Exploding Fist & International Karate were pretty nifty replacements.

The first real one-on-one beat em up and you could thump pixellated livestock. The controls were unique, the humour was a little bit pythonesque, the Judge looked a bit like a seventies porn star and the scenery changed after you'd duffed someone up, what more could you want? Pound worth of Tens please guvnor
Going for Gold!!
The heat is on,
The time is right,
It's time for you,
For you to play your game.

People are coming,
Everyone's trying,
Trying to be the best that they can.

When they're going for, going for gold!

22 - GORF - VIC 20

Hey the first entry for the good old VIC :D

As I may have mentioned many, many times before... IMO the best version ever - an improvement on the arcade machine!!

Maybe not everybodys choice, but for me this shows just what the VIC was capable of in a shooter.
At the time it stood out amidst a sea of space invader clones and, I think, still stands out as a ‘good’ example of an early 8bit arcade conversion.

Oi...! Show some respect to the older generation, the Vic 20 is not "the others". It is the grandfather of all we hold close to our gaming hearts :(

SILKWORM-AMIGA 500
Any votes for this one?I just loved this game mainly as it really needed two players as the controls were a bit fiddly for one player.
The graphics were simple yet detailed enough with some decent frames of animation. The sound effects were pretty cool too, especially the flash explosions with neat graphical touch too.
Both players had to work well together to get anywhere, but with a good understanding with each other ,you were awesome!!

I don't think you did count correctly, because 'the others' must include the VIC 20 entry and my entry for the BBC Micro... :?
