N2O on the playstation.

The game only has to read from the disc once, when it starts up. After that, you can put any other CD in the console and (as long as its audio tracks are standard Red Book CD audio) the game will analyse the contents of the disc and let you use its tracks as background music.
The best thing about it is that if you put another Playstation CD in, it will detect and ignore the track that contains the game data and only play the music tracks. :D

I find N2O particularly enjoyable with the music from Krazy Ivan, but I've been trying out Blast Radius recently, with promising results.

The music in Rez always makes me crank up the volume.

I also have a bit of a thing for the level one music in DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou, and also Zuntata's stuff in G-Darius and Darius Gaiden.

After the GTA games, the music on Driver: Parallel Lines is good too, well the 1970s bit is, the 2006 music is pretty arse.

All the original Megaman games had great music, so did Megaman X for that matter.

I also love the music for Maniac Mansion for the NES (especiialy Bernard and Syds themes).

I like the other two OutRun tracks better than Magical Sound Shower, but Passing Breeze holds a special place in my heart being the first one I ever heard or played to.
Dee dee deedle-eee, dee de dee, dee dee deeee....

The music from Cybernoid II (Amiga version especially) makes my little soldier grow a bit too.

I got them mixed up, it is Passing Breeze I think is the one that's my fav Outrun tune (at least based on your 'Dee dee deedle-eee' description)

I've been playing it for a couple of days...

Novastorm by Psygnosis. The back ground music (except from the ice world) is amazing.

I have the PS1 version of that. It doesn't work with N2O. :(
