Why hasn't that notorious CPC fanboy Darran posted a list yet?
Why retro? Because you never forget your first love.

I did say the list changes each week

It is a fantastic game and was once at the very top of my list, however, since completing it I can never get that initial wow factor back ...

I have got a CPC in my hallway. Its been there for a month or so. I should really give it a go as I haven't used one since my mates greenscreen in the 80s (I have used emulation though).
Not sure if any of the games are any good though.

There are many many classic games, I personally enjoyed more the games that programmers really sat down and pushed the boundaries so theres a few 'later in the era' games in my list -

Megablasters
Super Bomberman clone written specifically for the CPC, cant really fault the gameplay exactly as it should be and the ability to have 4 players simultaneously too from what I remember!!

Pang
Truly brilliant conversion, better even than the SNES version IMHO

Prehistorik II
Elmar Krieger... what a man! Shame he came so late onto the CPC scene (1992/93). Brilliant graphics, animation, sampled music, overscan (over into the border for those not in the know, in a way - widescreen!), parallax scrolling. Only downer was that its another flick-screen platformer.

Super Cauldron
See above, another one from Elmar. Graphics are probably a little more 'messy' compared but still utterly brilliant for an 8-bit from the early 80s

Chase HQ
Best conversion hands down.

Gryzor
Sigh people may moan that its flick screen, but its still miles ahead of the competition for another conversion

Navy Seals
A real quality release ... mega hard it appears at first, but persevere - I have completed it!

Lemmings
Yet another conversion ... couldn't possibly be any better on the CPC. Loses marks for presentation outside the actual game with just text menus and not the nice intro with the hot air balloon

Fluff
Hailed as the CPC's answer to Sonic The Hedgehog! Ok it didn't come close, but still a very nice and playable platformer

Prince Of Persia
Another stunning conversion. Hats off to the Speccy version too.

Honourable mentions -

Rick Dangerous 2
Turrican 1 + 2
Switchblade / Stryker In The Crypts Of Trojan
Elite
Rainbow Islands
Robocop 2
Zapp T' Balls
Final Fight
Renegade + Target Renegade
Double Dragon II (the later released non-Spanish port)

(edited to include my reasons why)
