I hated isometric puzzle games, one of the first CPC games I played was Knightlore and I got bored very quickly. I hated Batman too.gmintyfresh wrote: 7. Head over heels – Should be on everyone’s list, fiendish puzzles, great isometric graphics, and a wicked sense of humour. A true CPC great
Yep some good titles there, I'd forgotten about how good Renegade was, I'll have to dig that outRocketRanger wrote:Yes, I'm going to ignore the retro-facists and name some CPC games I like too:
North & South, IMHO trumps the other 8-bit conversions - even the NES. The c64 conversion was good (but the battles sucked a bit), I just think the CPC graphics followed the original comics consistantly.
Elite, it was good on other machines too - but the CPC had a nice noise when you shot things.
Rainbow Islands, when you plugged the CPC into an amp it sounded like an arcade machine.
Rampage, I kind of liked the european conversions and this is the best version musically. I can't get the tune out of my head, and it's been nearly twenty years.
Chase HQ, the spectrum version with colour![]()
Satellite Warrior, mostly forgotton Multi-Player Amsoft game, build satallites - send them to a moon and shoot your mates down. I loved this game.
Drip Zone, Public Domain breakout/arkanoid clone.
Renegade, It's a nice version
Barbarian, ..is best
The Bards Tale, The CPC had a nice community surrounding this game.
There were good and bad isometric games, I must admit I wasn't a huge Knightlore fan myself some of the puzzles were a little too unlogical and difficult to be fun. But I loved both Batman and HOHRocketRanger wrote:I hated isometric puzzle games, one of the first CPC games I played was Knightlore and I got bored very quickly. I'm sure they were just far too clever looking for me.
