It's a standard zip file. XP opens them as standard.

You should be able to double click the file and it will open it (it sounds like you have WinRAR over-riding the default, but it's the same thing). You should see a WinVICE-1.22 directory. Just drag to to wherever you want to put it (like in your Program Files directory or whatever you usually use).

Then just double click the x64.exe file to run the C64. The other icons will run other emulators like the Vic-20, Pet, etc.

:!:

That's where we have to leave it I'm afraid.

I'm sure Google will help...

I have Gamebase 64 installed with lots of games. I used eMule to get the games, but that's probably a bit advanced if you were struggling with the zip file. Google should take you to some web sites where you will be able to download them one at a time.

If I've said too much, the mods can remove the offending parts of this post.

Although not a site that holds (illegal ) game roms , Gamebase is nevertheless a great site for info on games , with a great front_end interface for your (LEGAL!) game roms

Was this due to your feelings of guilt for committing piracy?

No.

Availability at retail has no connection with copyright here. You would be required to source a legit original copy, the usual method being ebay.

Copyright law may be different/non-existent in the host site's country. It would still be illegal for you to download a copy in the UK.

All assuming the copyright holder has not granted permission or waived their rights.
