Ahhh okay cheers, the modding sounds interesting. Saw a Pac Man one in Smyths in Bury a few weeks back, tempting !
I am going to mod mine once I get some money coming back in. Got it about a month before lockdown happened.
Parts wise you will need to grab a converter board for the screen and a few USB encoders for the sticks/buttons, about £50 total then a PC (meh Pi) to power it all
Was going to try to import some from the US as they are dirt cheap (Know some one that knows someone that ships stuff to the UK every now and then) just to mod for other games, but.....
I dont think such a thing will be good for events use, they are very lightweight and some of the wood used for the front panel is thin and not very durable.
Decent for casual home use

A New 3DS, which I guess can be considered retro now. It's the first time I've bought an old console (excluding the SNES mini) as I've owned my originals since new/near new.

Games for it:
GTA: Chinatown Wars
The World Ends With You
Professor Layton & the Lost Future
Professor Layton & the Miracle Mask
Super Scribblenauts
Bravely Second
Broken Sword
Ghost Trick
Soul Bubbles
A Link Between Worlds
Ever Oasis

I seem to have missed out on Chrono Trigger (I've never played it) for a decent price and may buy others that go for higher physical prices digitally given Chrono Trigger isn't available digitally.

Game related
Got an Eilgato HD on the cheap, will be using it to directly capture game footage, maybe do a few streams as well

Also bought that £8.99 unlocking package thing on Genshin impact, the game is free, but im putting so much time into it might as well bung them some money

As I sold my retro collection a while back I picked up a handheld emulator (an arcade Pro lunar). System is good with loads of games although sound speaker not great and benefits from headphones.

Robotics Notes Double Pack on PS4, need to get back on Steins; Gate before playing it. Got Faris’ ending but then just kind of lost focus, not the game’s fault though, it’s a fantastic read

If I hit lvl 30 on the Battle Pass, I might throw them the money for that as the weapons all look really nice. I think they’ve earned some of my cash at this point

40odd right now, buying that pass gave me more "Rewards", have to really start grinding to level things up.
The Gatcha thing is doing my head in, it keeps giving me swords I dont use

I haven't been collecting many new games recently, rather I have mainly been on a hunt collecting the boxes for the cart based games I have , which are quite a few. Most recent addition is Bust a Move 2 for n64

I really enjoyed that game - really relaxing, although one of the modes means finding stuff - I have all bar one and never been able to find it!

Bought the 'base unit' for my bartop. So the bartop screws on top of it, looks great and like a 'proper' machine. Also finally worked out how to change the screen ratio as before vertical games like Commando or Bomb Jack were full screen, now they're back to proper horizontal view so its great.

Went to the guys workshop and saw some stunning machines there, the star wars covered one looked amazing.

This is the guys website - www.retrobartopgames.co.uk
