Hey, I bought the Snes console some time last year at a car boot for £25, but today I saw the Score master arcade stick for it! Has all inserts and plastic bags just like the console. It was only £2.99 in my local gamestation! I was lucky to see it when I was buying my games! Anyway today I bought the following:
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire N64
Top Gear Rally (absolute crap) N64
Turok 1 N64
Sonic 3D: Megadrive
The house of the dead 2: DC - Brilliant game!!!
Soul Calibur
All the above (except console) for £19.96!

MGS 4 - As much as I love retro gaming for me this is frankly the best gaming experience ever created, pure art.

As billed in the credits to the game Hideo Kojima = God

Powerstone - £3 on Ebay but not here yet
Gunbird Special Edition (PS2)
Raiden 3
Midway Arcade Treasures 1 - Doesn't work :(
Midway Arcade Treasures 3 - Does work but I kinda wish it didn't
Psyvariar (PS2)
Full Spectrum Warrior 1 & 2
Commando 3 - (360)
Triggerheart Exelica - (360)
Omega Five - (360)
R - Types (PSX) - £3 Ebay

Contemplating what combo to get of the following Ikaruga, Assault Heroes, Assault Heroes 2.

I already own Ikaruga on the Gamecube but it's measely 50hz makes me want the hi-def 360 version.

After clinging onto my aging PC for almost five years I finally decided to get a new one. There are a few games coming out that my old PC would barely be able to load, let alone run! Anyway, it was delivered today. Some quad-core monster that chews up and spits out any game you could throw at it

I tried Mass Effect on it tonight and it's silky smooth and gorgeous. I'm well chuffed.

ANd the BIGGEST problem and change that proves they are NOT direct ports are the load times.
I never said they were direct ports ;)

They have re-used/re-programmed the PS1 versions of Capcom Generations 1-5 for most of the games included though, and not used/emulated the arcade versions.

I'm interested to know where you got your games from.

Chakan surely isn't worth £10. But on the flip side, Death and Return of Superman if complete is a bargain!

More of a horror/gothic game collector :)

The reason i bought RE4:LE was because i had to get Brain Training for my fiancee and it was one of those buy one get half off another deals...couldn't resist the shiny metal case, even though i already have the game on GC and am probably going to get it again when i get a Wii ;)

Rock Band

Post by timewarpgamer » Tue Jun 17, 2008 10:37 pm

All I wanted to do last Friday after work was jam out to Guitar Hero and unwind. But the friggin' red fret button wouldn't work properly. By Sunday, I couldn't handle it anymore and bought Rock Band—my most un-retro purchase in some time. Damn, that game is good. After the Celtics game, I'll have to cram in some more playtime, even though I'll be wicked tired for work. Gotta keep my priorities straight.
I run the 8/16-bit retro gamer website TimeWarpGamer, and if you want to follow the latest developments, you can find me on Twitter as well.

I'll be able to do the same thing very soon... I bought the games a few weeks ago, thinking my PSP would arrive soon... but it never did! So I'm going to buy the Final Fantasy limited edition on Friday, and then, I'll finally be able to play it, as well as Castlevania (it's this game that made me want a PSP), and FF:Crisis Core (I can't wait for this one too!)
O the joy!
