Picked up a Game Gear on eBay the other day, delighted as I've been after one for a while now, the body is in near perfect condition, screen also great, bit blurry in places but too be expected, external sound gone works with headphone, so thats ok Four games and an awesome official Sega carrying case for under €30?
The display was initially good, with some blur lines or streaking, to be expected given it's age, but it's since became only visible when tilted away from you at an extreme angle.
Fears of the dreaded cheap capacitor issue seem to be the case here :/
Was sold in "good working order"
Destiny!.... you cannot destroy my destiny!

^ That's the problem with GGs, it may very well have been working OK when it was tested but the slightest thing can make those caps go pop.

Arrived yesterday, I've had a Neo Geo Pocket Color for years and this is only the second game I've bought for it!

As for the game....I'll let the bigger shmup fans talk about it's merits. But it does look blooody gorgeous...
I am one of those people, how long does it take for a game to get to the UK from Germany!!

I've had games from the US and Japan arrive in a couple of days!!

Glad your copy came though mate

I've never seen the cover for it! When I was buying NGPC carts they were usually only cart only or those blister comp packs! Looks nice

Got Tomb Raider on Steam and it looks and plays fantastic. Great reboot of the series.

Nice. Is the little baggie containing the CrossRings still in the box too?

The CrossRing sticker as pictured on the box is different from the equivalent sticker on the one I have so a slight variation for the serious collectors to obsess over right there!

On a wider note, the European release game boxes for NGP/NGPC games are utterly superb, imho.

Agreed. I posted my thoughts on the game (PC version) in the 'What are you currently playing?' thread. The game isn't everyone's cup of tea but I'm enjoying it so far.

Plays really well on the NGPC. not a fan of the zoomed in view option but its a nice touch for the smaller screen.

Gotta love NGPC cases :D

Star Wars collection on Steam. £23! £23?! Absolute bargain. Only had Dark Forces already, although I have a few more on disc, but it's worth it seeing as I was planning on buying Empire at War and the KOTOR's this weekend anyway!

Huge amount of pickups for the week, mostly Nintendo stuff.

Image

Killer Instinct Gold
Shadows Of the Empire
Blast Corps
NBA Courtside

All excellent games, sadly NBA Courtside was the only one i had as a teenager.

Image

New Super Mario Bros. (Excellent!)
Spongebob Surf and Skate Roadtrip (Gutter Trash)
Yamaha Supercross (blah)
Dodge Racing Charger Vs Challenger ( Average, but I love Dodge)
Starfox Command (need to put more time into this)
COP The Recruit (pretty decent, not as polished as I would hope, but impressive tech wise for the DS)

Image
Facebreaker KO Party (Motion Controls actually make this more tolerable than the 360 version, only just)
Godzilla Unleashed (controls like ass, looks pretty good graphic wise)
Nights (again, looks beautiful but plays like ass)

some randoms from this week:
Image

Sega Extreme Sports (DC) Love it, hard and cheap as heck, but It's pretty fun
Fighting Force 2 (DC) Had a great time playing this the other night, got right to the exit of the first level (which is lengthy) and got killed by the last goon, who took my last continue
Sega GT 2002 (XB) Same as when i originally had it with my console long ago, but now I am better at it
Outrun 2 (XB) looks beautiful on the 360, but I continue to suck at all Outrun games
Space Invaders Invasion Day (PS2) I thought this was a Gamecube exclusive, but was surprised to find a ps2 copy on Ebay, fun arcade game.
