Research shows it's the same, yeah. Are those PSP versions at CeX cheap? If they're 2 quid or less and you're coming to replay in November, could you grab one for me and bring it there? Just secured the PS2 version cheaply but PSP would be a nice curiosity at that price ;)

Fired up my console TV thing I bought yesterday and amongst the usual crap, jewel games, tetris clones etc there were a few decent ones:

Image - Panda - A rather playable super mario bros clone. Reprogrammed graphics, annoying music, but the same power ups, level layout (warps, breaking out of the screen) and jump/floaty mechanics, its pretty good imo and not really seen it amongst other noc devices.

Image - Super Elf - Circus Charlie clone, not bad, same game play, reprogrammed graphics, music on a loop, but still very playable, nice and bright cute graphics

Image - Super Fighter - Contra clone, ok-ish, chunky graphics, ok music, plays just like NES contra. Only one weapon through out the game (spread gun)

Full List of games and there licensed counter parts:

Built in:

Fun Click - a Match 3 Jewel Game
Box World - Boxy Boy
Diamond - Breakout/Arkanoid
Strange Pop Pop - Tetris Clone
Matching - Card Pairs (with a cute picture of cotton on her broom stick)
Soccer - errr, Soccer
Panda - Super Mario Bros clone
Future Tank - Tank, with bio mechanical fish!
Forrest Guard - Duck Hunt Clone
Cowboy - Wild Gunman Clone
Space 2050 - Duck Hunt Clone
UFO Race - plays like Night Driver, but worse
Sky Invader - into the screen plane shooter
Tennis - Tennis
Obstacle Race - Unknown
Mars - Unknown shooter
Baseball - Baseball
Tunny - Unknown
Super Elf - Circus Charlie
Aether Tiger - 1942, reprogrammed graphics, same music. When you do a barrel Roll your sprite reverts back to the plane from the original game, otherwise its a pink spaceship thing, strange.
Boat Race - Road Fighter (with boats)

12 - in - 1 Cart

Super Fighter - Contra
Alps Skiing - Slalom
X-War - Unknown
Shoot Glasses - Duck Hunt
Archery - PooYon
Zero Gravity - Balloon Kid
Bomb Helicopter - Raid on Bungeling Bay
Gold Digger - Unknown
Hoodle - Pinball/Pinbot
Risker - Excite Bike, with cars, very odd. Plays exactly the same but with a car making the crazy jumps
Special Mission - Contra again, seems to be a mixed bag of levels
Shoot Copter - Duck Hunt

Counted the Pins on the 12-1 cart and there's 60 Pins (30 each side) on the cart, SO, famicom games should work, which is a bonus. Only problem I can see is it's powered by 4 D Cell batterys, but there is a hole (blocked at the back) for a power adapter so going to cut the plastic off later and have a nosey.....Now what to do with it lol

oooo, with the power of google -

http://www.nesworld.com/pirate-tvkonsol.php - mines UK box tho

Hydr0x - Can't remember exactly how much they were, certainly more than £2 though - I didn't really pay much attention, it's not really my thing.

Wth, never heard of that one before.
Ditto! For £1.49 on eBay, I'm interested! And there's plenty of PSP versions for a fiver on the CEX site.

Wth, never heard of that one before. Could you possibly take a photo of it for me?
Will do tonight mate.

Its an Indian developed game that strangely got a PAL European release and that is the only version available!
It's because India use the PAL format. There's a small handful of known Indian PS2 exclusives that will work on PAL consoles but naturally they're hard to find because they only got released over there. I read this on Playstationcollecting.com anyway :) . Interesting stories behind the games in question but no idea if they're any good or not

_____

As for me, I finally, finally managed to get a copy of Xmen Vs Street Fighter on the PS1. Wasn't prepared to pay more than £20 for a copy and I kept losing them at just over £20 excluding postage. Logged into ebay on the Bank Holiday just gone hoping that stuff might go unnoticed (due to people doing stuff on bank holidays) and snagged a copy on a BIN for £17.99 inc. 1st class recorded delivery. There's a few cracks on the case but overall it's in very nice condition.

I know the Saturn port is the only way to go but I love collecting my Capcom fighters on any format and this one has been eluding me at a decent price for a while now. Next up...Marvel Superheroes Vs Street Fighter!
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Nice GB lot in the mail today, a few are missing the inner cardboard but otherwise they're in great shape mostly.
