From what I read on the forums the recent release of PocketSnes is supposed to be very good and should handle it otherwise you'll have to use the 4D version of Snes9x to handle the Mode 7 games.

I was very tempted to get one as well until they said that Dingux wouldn't be available for it for months to come and therefore limited to the native software. Once it is available the Gemei will be very popular.

Thanks. I've seen a few reviews of Mirror's Edge and Infinity Blade and they do indeed look well worth getting. It also seems that having Angry Birds is the law these days for iPhone/iPod touch users! There was a car racing game similar in appearances to Gran Turismo, of which I've forgotten the name of, that looks pretty good too. I'm desperate to get Vector Tanks as well. :)
Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but Mirrors Edge is free today with the 12 days of Christmas app. Broken Sword was free the other day too!

Got a mint PS2 Echo the Dolphin and Drakengard in Gamestation had Gamecube Defender as the free game

Got Nighttrap (MCD) for £5 - I think that is a good price? Also got Starwing, Clayfighter and gameboy converter (all SNES)

@Dreamcastrip Not sure if they have been mentioned but I think the following are good games: Flick Kick football, Cut the Rope and Flight Control.

Nothing to it, just relied on PC World's complete and utter lack of gaming knowledge. As I can see you did as well! Sin & Punishment 2 is brilliant.

Because it was the last day of the Festive Offers on PSN, I downloaded Sonic 4 Episode 1, Pac Man Championship Edition DX and Pixeljunk Shooter last night for reduced prices. Really disappointed with Sonic 4 if I'm honest....I played it a bit back at R3PLAY but an extended session has confirmed to me that I just don't like the controls, Sonic's physics/inertia don't feel right at all, the music isn't memorable at all and sounds bland, level design isn't great and is just rehashed from older Sonic games (ANOTHER bloody Casino level, oh great. :roll: ), and plus for a game that's meant to be about speed...after you get past the very first level, the level designs seem to do everything they can to slow you down a lot of the time. :? Not overly keen on the bonus levels either, I found them annoying in the original Sonic, giving you control of the rotation doesn't change much.

Luckily, Pac Man DX and Pixeljunk Shooter make up for it in spades, they're excellent. :)

My copies of Mass Effect 1 & 2 just arrived on my desk at work. Bought new from Game for the grand total of £10.46 in the sale last week :D

The Castlevania Lords of Shadow official strategy guide just arrived too. Completed the game already but quite fancy going through and getting everything + I hope the artwork is as good as the unlock-able stuff in the game.

It's on offer. It was on the currys website for a while. Offer is now in store only.

Thanks, I may well have to pay them a visit then, but knowing my luck the offer will have ended by then or they wont have it stock, gonna keep my fingers crossed anyway.

While I agree with you on the controls (why oh why couldn't they have stuck to the same control mechanism as before, even if they tweaked it a bit!) and the physics, I quite liked the levels themselves. The casino level had some new twists in it to spice things up a bit, and for the first time since 1994 there's been some proper bloody platforming for a change!

In regards to the level themes, I think that A) they were playing it safe, and sticking to known quantities in the first episode for nostalgia's sake, so I hope for more variety and originality in later episodes, and B) hasn't the Sonic franchise pretty much covered every possible environment for a hedgehog to run around in anyway?

I hated the special stage too though. It was bad the first time, but now there's a time limit on it.Time limits suck.

I ordered Metroid: Other M from an Amazon seller this week, recieved it this morning (or so I thought), really looking forward to playing this today but when I opened the box the seller had forgotten to put the disk back in the box! :(
