Yeah, my son and me will be giving that a bash over Xmas (assuming i can pry him away from Far Cry 3 and Black Ops 2)

The kids always destroy me at the melee type games. I can never work out what's going on quickly enough.... next thing i know, i'm dead!

I only like playing it because its over the top and very silly. Plus it has Optimus Prime in it.

Finally got round to picking a 360 250gb Elite from my local Sainsbury's for around £159 and picked up Sonic Generations and Call of Duty 2. So, I couldn't wait to open the Sonic game, which I think was like £12. I was so disappointed, it's just not there the whole sonic feeling to, it I would have to 'Sonic Heroes' on the Playstation 2 was better in gameplay, not graphics style by any means just that you wanted to play more. Haven't cracked open the Call of Duty game yet as the spare room where my consoles are at the moment are a bit full with relatives Christmas Presents - I mind them for my brother, so the little ones don't go looking round at his house. I also got 'Halo 4' free and some points - 2100 of them and 4 free XBLA games, as I've just signed up to a new ISP provider, O2 for £13.50 a month, which should have been £21.00 a month, but get it half price as I'm with them for my mobile. There a bit slower than Orange, but it's only for a year and I got 'Halo 4' for nothing, which am yet to open, never got round to playing 'Halo 3' properly as I've been without and XBox 360 for a while.

Linky for O2 offer http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/xboxoffer on until the 26/12/12 - might be worth a look for some peeps on here.

Not exactly a "console", but...

I gave in to temptation and about a 16K Sinclair ZX Spectrum this week. No games with it, but I've got plenty of 16K games already and am planning to write them myself too. So it makes sense to have this computer in my collection - that's my excuse anyway :-)

^^^ I don't think it is. I played it from start to finish (100% side-quest/synthesis completion too) and it was noticeably choppy at times and certainly not the most polished conversion. That said, it is a really fun RPG in the Atelier Iris mould with some excellent battle music and likeable characters (I thought so anyway)

Also, the odd landscape box art is because the PAL version is supposed to come in a bigger outer box with soundtrack CD:

(not a piccie of my copy just one I stole off Google)
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

At a carboot in Cornwall today I met a house clearance guy selling some very dusty Megadrive games. Got the following for £20 and all are complete (bar Simpsons which has no manual) and work fine:

Afterburner 2
Back to the Future 3
Earthwork Jim
Mega SWIV
Paperboy
Runark
The Simpsons: Bart versus the Space Mutants
Spot goes to Hollywood
Toy Story
Virtua Racing
Summer Challenge

Some good, some bad but all add to the ever increasing mass of MD games :)
