Overwatch

Amazon offered me a £10 coupon if I joined prime but only vaild for Prime Day. Barely anything of interest in my price range, so picked up Overwatch for an extra £5.

So far, I'm not too bad at it. Getting 1 Player of the Match chosen for a 3 kill in one of my first few games.

The Eon GCHD adapter that connects a Gamecube to modern TVs via HDMI. Link below for my initial thoughts:

I didn't actually buy it in the end, but I came PERILOUSLY close to pulling the trigger on a PS Vita over on Ebay earlier in the week.

I find the console a really attractive proposition in theory, and there are a good few games on the system that I'm interested in, but realistically, it just feels like such a gamble buying one second hand. I don't like making apurchase like that without some idea of the potential points of failure or things to look out for. And it's a real bind trying to sift useful info out of the web on that stuff.

I think I'll add that to the Dreamcast and Saturn on my list of consoles I'd REALLY like to get hold of but probably never will.

Final Fight Streetwise for the PS2. Terrible rep but after watching some gameplay and forgetting about the Final Fight name, the game itself actually looks...okay? So I bought a copy. Looking forward to giving it a go when I get the chance :)

Oh you poor soul. You've no idea what you've unleashed. As a big Capcom fan I've played this game to completion. And its awful. Just... really, really awful. Its actually really sad as the canned version of this game (that went onto become Streetwise) was originally going to be far closer to the original games in design. But due to miscommunication in wanting something more gritty (like GTA) we got Streetwise. Still, I think its better than FF Revenge, which is even worse.
If you've never played it, give Urban Reign (from Namco), Spikeout (Sega) and Beatdown (from Capcom) a try for similar games that are far better. Oh, and that series that Spikeout evolved from by Sega featuring Yakuza. I forget the title though ;)

Anyway, latest arrivals for me:

Both PSP Sengoku Basara games for my Capcom collection, and the PS4 remaster of Yakuza 3. I've wanted a version of Yakuza 3 that runs in proper HD for ages, so I can't wait to start playing it tomorrow. Might even get the plat trophy eventually...
