As a guy who would rather spend 40 quid on three random budget games than one AAA brand new title I have made way too many poor purchases in the past.
What can I say - I always go for quantity over quality because maybe once or twice it's paid off (Ribbit King? Yes please!). But it also means that I'm one of the only people in the world who has played Robot Warlords on the PS2.

I would say I encountered a few disappointing conversions. A few games that were good on other formats but not good on others.
Paperboy was great on my C64, but lacked some playability on my Amiga.
Robocop was great at the arcades, and didn't seem to work on the Amiga, plus you had to press SPACE to jump, why not just JOYSTICK UP?
Syndicate Wars I agree with. Great first one, not so good second one. Also why I love the original Civ the best.
Populous 3 was a bit of a let down as well. I loved the second one of the series!

I always used to find myself disappointed about the "name" games on the Spectrum. I think I'm the only person to find Elite useless.
However, I finally got a chance to play some games I wanted for ages when I had my Spectrum. Now when I finally got the chance to play them on a Spectrum emulator years later I couldn't help but feel they'd missed a trick.
Garfield, Snoopy, Andy Capp are just three as I thought they could have been brilliant adventure games.

And presumably any piece of software that attempts to simulate running and kicking a ball with a joypad.paranoid marvin wrote:I consier any piece of software that attempts to simulate driving using a joypad as a pointless exercise
Or jumping over things with a joypad.
Or flying with a joypad.
Or shooting with a joypad.
