It's all a matter of personal taste; it probably needed a disclaimer about the difficulty level, but i've always liked it personally because i like my shoot 'em ups to put up a fight and, despite the spikes in the difficulty curve and the cavern stages in particular, it's still something i enjoy playing. The other versions have issues though; the CPC version has some nasty bugs and the Atari 8-bit... well, it just
shouldn't look like that on a machine with hardware sprites and scrolling!
That's a
terrible shoot 'em up!! (Has anybody told you that you're shameless, by the way? =-)

Great link, i'd completely forgotten about Mined Out.

I've just released an Android version of this fantastic game, with the permission of the original author Ian Andrew, and it's available on Google Play and Amazon App Marketplace.

Mined-Out! on Amazon
mined-out is brilliant, I'd urge anyone with an android to check it out. Any plans for iOS kid?

Hey, I'm just saying there's no need to go off looking for dodgy downloads you don't have permission for when you can just ask...
Alright then.
Crosswize
(Other game genres are available).
(Not that
TMR would let on).

If I suddenly and magically had a Mac capable of iOS dev and a licence I would be happy to compile my games for iPad/Pod/Phone.

It was five years ago, when i posted about
Transmuter, i was more happy go lucky then...

i'm hurt by that comment! Just because i have a devious plan to get every homebrew developer i talk to writing shoot 'em ups, that doesn't mean i don't like a good puzzle game or platformer once in a while - honest! Now, about that scroll routine of yours... =-)
